Icom IP-M60 Hybrid LTE Plus Marine VHF Radio

IP-M60 Hybrid LTE Plus Marine VHF Radio

Supports Communication at Sea & on Land

The IP-M60 is the world’s¹ first hybrid IP radio, combining two communication modes in one device: VHF marine and LTE. It functions as a marine VHF handheld mobile radio - widely used for maritime safety - and as a land-based LTE cellular radio for long-distance communication within cellular coverage areas².

The IP-M60 is ideal for use offshore, in ports, rivers, and canals where both maritime and land-based communication are needed. It’s especially useful for rescue boats coordinating with search-and-rescue agencies, or during events like yacht races that require communication across multiple networks.

Cellular (LTE) Mode

In Cellular mode, communication takes place over the carrier’s LTE (or 3G) network, allowing calls anywhere within coverage. Simultaneous TalkListen™ enables full-duplex communication, so users can talk and listen at the same time—just like a phone call.

Marine Mode

This mode operates as a VHF marine radio, offering the same core functions and performance as traditional models like the Icom IC-M25. VHF marine communication is essential for ensuring maritime safety between vessels and coastal stations.

Cellular (LTE) + Marine Mode

Cellular and Marine modes can be used simultaneously (simultaneous reception is possible, and audio is MIXED.) PTT buttons for Main and Sub-mode make it possible to select the communication mode assigned to each with one touch. The communication mode can be selected quickly without having to switch modes. Simultaneous transmission on both channels is possible by pressing the PTT buttons for the Main and Submode at the same time.
